Exhumed - Reclassified
I've just made a quick update to the fiction page, folks, to announce that my second Deathwatch short story, Exhumed, will no longer be published in the Fear the Alien anthology, but will appear in the next Space Marines anthology, which is currently yet to be announced (it's the one after Legends of the Space Marines).Why is this happening? Since the original Talon Squad story appeared in Heroes of the Space Marines, the powers-that-be have decided Exhumed is a better fit for another volume in that particular series, where it's the Space Marines, not the aliens, that are the main focus. To that extent, I certainly agree. We can't have filthy, bug-eyed xenos upstaging Talon Squad.
I know it means you'll all have to wait a while longer to read it, but don't worry. I'm busy cooking up something else special even as we speak. ;)

For Fear the Alien ?
Wise choice by those Powers. Erm...next anthology...I think...the one with the Doom Eagles on the front? Legends of the Space Marines? I think it'd be cooler to have a member of Talon Squad ripping open some Ork head in half for the front cover, but that's just me.
@Anonymous and The SGC: I won't be writing for Fear the Alien or Legends of the Space Marines. As I understand it, Exhumed will most likely appear in the third 'XXXXX of the Space Marines' anthology. Bear in mind, though, that since we're talking long term, things are subject to change. To be honest, I'd like you all to get your hands on Exhumed as soon as possible, but when and how is up to the dark powers at BL. They have plans within plans.
Man I was so looking forward to once again going to battle along talon squad. I'll have to be patient. to be honest they deserve their own triology. I like this deathwatch better than Gotos books. You left me curious about the Lamenters dreadnought . what's his Personality?. I hope he's like jerian and has some attitude.everyone always makes dreadnoughts dull. Autocholus from the iron snakes is the other exception. I hope it's not to long to read about Talon squad kicking some ass. Xeno or what not.
