Three is the Magic Number... So Far.
As you'll already know, next year sees the launch of Black Library's new Space Marine Battle Book series - a range of books focusing on some of the biggest events in Space Marine history (outside of the Horus Heresy, that is). You probably also know that I'll be kicking things off with my novel Rynn's World, which is released in February of next year.
Well, the artwork for the two books to follow - Aaron Dembski-Bowden's Helsreach and Mitchel Scanlon's The Hunt for Voldorius - is now up on various websites. Here's what the three books look like together:

I think you'll agree, they look pretty frakkin' amazing. I'm looking forward to having them sitting on my shelf, I can tell you. The spines even have a little image of a Space Marine from each of the relevant Chapters. Very cool stuff.
Jon Sullivan, the artist responsible for all three cover paintings, really is outdoing himself, getting better and better with each piece. Check out his website HERE to see more of his phenomenal work.

Great work! Been looking forward to SMB series. Quick question though, BL authors have done a great job of distinguishing the HH era SM from the 'present' 40K SM. If the SMB series is looking at time periods inbetween will the Astartes have more of a Heresy era feel to them or 40K feel to them? And i hope Voldaris has both Raven Guard & White Scars marines on teh spine seeing as it was a joint operation ;D - thanks Steve, keep up the good work!
Hey Alastair,
Thanks for dropping by.
That's a hell of a good question regarding the spine of the Voldorius book. I might have to ask Kymey Kyme about that.
Re: the whole 40k Space Marines feel vs. Heresy feel, expect the former. To my knowledge, all the SM Battle Books so far planned/written take place closer to the 41st millennium that the 31st.
*grumbles something about awesome and it only being October right now and thn slinks away*
Jon Sullivan's artwork is, as you correctly point out, truly fantastic. I like the clean lines of white backgrounds on those books.
Now just to get to the content...
